One of the strangest computers in my collection, this used to be a "DJ computer". I bought this from the guy who made the DJ software for it for $60.
This has been, all in all, one of my most problematic machines.
Originally, the machine came equipped with a Ge Force MX 4400, shitty Intel motherboard, a whopping 1gb of ram, a 300 or so gb hard drive, and a keyboard with some pretty dirty alps black switches.
Both the motherboard and gpu had a insane amount of bad caps (curse you capacitor plague), and although I brought the mobo back, the gpu was dead for good. After that, the hard drive died and was replaced. The computer also originally had only 1 cd rom drive, leaving an ugly hole in the side of the machine, so I added another one just to plug up the hole.
One of the greatest tragedies of my collection is that this computer was originally equipped with a touch-screen kit, that has since died leaving me to use the shitty track-pad :(
One day, I found a Volari V5 sitting in a thrift store, it was a really fascinating card, made by a company that only lasted a couple years before going out.
I was interested and despite the reported lackluster performance I decided to get the card. After a quick re-cap, there was no better place to put such an odd card, than into my strangest computer.
